Christmas Fayre 2022

Did my third of four Christmas Fayres this year yesterday on a very chilly, wintery but in the end, manageable outdoor fayre at The Allotment Cafe in Mossley. Often pop in for coffee with friends or family so familiar with a nice garden area, seating inside and out although the 12 or so stalls took up space outside this time. It was very busy most of the day until mid afternoon when the temperature started to really drop so we packed up about half hour early, 10 am – 3.30 pm was OK. Lots of children, families and dogs popping by.

All the Fayres were local to me as a start off.

The second one was the Dovestone WI fayre, usually very busy but very wet weather, world cup football and lots of others fayres and events early in December this was less so this year but fun chatting with colleagues on the WI and local people we knew popping in.

First a local church at St Georges, Mossley, actually in the church with table across the pews near the aisles which novel but lots of storage and sitting space! Did OK there although only a few people and lots of children ready for Santas three appearances. One young boy actually asked Santa if he’d been good, bless.

The brown fairy door model to a young boy whose face was excited and lit up at the prospect of getting his chosen treat!

The next is less fayre than an event at a local nursery nearer to Christmas. Enough time to replace stock and re-plan the stand for limited space and numbers, maybe even cards to make for the parent stay and play!
