This year, 2020, has several milestone family birthdays for me a 90th, a 60th and 50th within two months.
We never really realise this at the time as ‘birth days’ are staggered over the years. It’s only when something like this arises that we realise the relationship between birthday dates and family members!
Here are a few cards I created for them, some I sent and some for other family members I make and they choose and write – or have the insert created for them if they are not local to me. I’m flexible!
Most people leave it until almost too late to send their cards and rush the choice! Hence, my motivation is to be prepared and trial ideas with this inspiration. It definitely helps to have such inspiration!
The first because gold always suggests ‘special’ celebrations and a 90th is certainly one of those! Imagine!
The second is my card to my relative, with floral background and bird topper with flowers and ribbon.
The third is the memory box I decorated for the same person, as at that age there are lots of memories and of a special partner much missed. I added into this some card clips with “A little note …” and decorative stamps on them for memories to recall and sift through often!
The fourth picture is another card I made with this person’s birthday in mind but no 90th included so it could go into stock should it not be required this time around.
For the 50th – on the same day would you believe 40 years apart and related though marriage! I made this bespoke card for someone who used to love music and making music – and that’s something you never really lose a love for, and also techy too. Note the laptop code – its the birth date including year! I liked that touch and I’m hoping it raises a smile from the recipient as they recognise it too!
The first card is one of two I made just in case someone else wanted one from my family too. This and the other -a specifically 50th card – will go into stock now too.
