Ribbons & flowers

My personal stock in trade – something I tend towards and love to create, using pretty colours and pretty ribbons with floral papers and flower toppers. It’s perhaps the girly side to me that I would love to get. Who knows?

Two daughters perhaps too offers this although I tend to send one the fashion styles and the other music for their particular interests and tastes and yet perhaps I should try the opposite this year! Maybe.

Flowers and ribbons often seem to be ‘for mothers’ and sisters perhaps but they always look pretty to me!

Ribbons can be bought in rolls or picked up from clothes like hanging supports from the shoulders of new items that I always cut out as they annoy me and hang out when they shouldn’t. From old cards now obsolete or bits & pieces bags from suppliers maybe. You never know what cute oddments you can find and use, that inspire a new idea or a totally new ‘look’.

I sort mine into colours for easy finding, although until recently they were jumbled in together, now in baskets of blues/purple, greens, pinks/reds, gold/yellow, white and black, floral and coloured etc.

These on their own can spark an idea or easily adorn a join of paper and card, between topper and paper or edging. Bows fall naturally into line or as add on with the falling tails too.

This year, 2020, I had a ‘floral focus’ buying many books of different types of papers – pretty pinks, red roses, vintage, purple passions, blue fields and vintage floral papers and ‘label’ toppers. It was fun. I still have lots yet to use over time too.

So try new things, enjoy those that come often and natural to your mind and hands, and continue to ‘love’ your creations that you choose to share or keep to ponder!
