Why send a handmade card?

Now that digital wishes are more common through convenience and cost of postage more than the cards themselves, and thought that it is wastage, the thrill of getting a lovely card – especially a unique one just for you and sent with thoughtful love and effort – is not to be missed.

A digital one is shared, these are precious between you.

A digital Facebook wish is lost amongst the many, and even a photo needs searching for. A card on the shelf then a drawer for safe keeping and reference the memories of people and relationships is forever a memory.

Finding ‘the right card’ for someone did and does take effort. There are many to choose from, often many of the same. Have you ever got the same card for an occasion? I have. It can be that the two people know you well and see you the same, which is lovely (or not) but also that it is so general it ‘will do’ rather than ‘it fits’.

Making special cards for my family’s birthdays is inspiring and lots of love goes into each one – the thought, the new process, the colours and size and style matches what they want and appreciate, as well as what I want to share with them.
