Christmas card making

Christmas this year is already done – I find I have already made more than 100 cards last year so that is that taken care of – except for the ones I will want to make or again, special ones!  I can start preparing for next year then ….so where to start?

Finding some that were not quite finished or I don’t now like the look of, I will add and remove to make it how my taste is this year!  I will still buy odd bits I can’t resist for Christmas, like the snowman ribbon I found at a flea market stall just browsing…the sample card was lovely, using the ribbon over card so it can stand off the base, and looked very effective, bright and happy!

Ribbon is something I have a lot of, but always collect – buy it, find it, claim it or create it even.   I found some green and red ribbon which looks lovely tied together on matching background paper, including the Christmassy checkered design below.

I like the green and red, but have also tried other unusual colours for the festive period – pink, lovely for a girly girl; blue triangle trees make it cool like ice and quite modern too; or even yellow (my daughter didn’t like that one!) with gold trimmings.    I also made a spotty present from wrapping paper over cardboard, and a tree with corrugated shiny board in a tree shape on the spotty paper background!

There is also the shiny tree ribbon that can be used on cards – wired at the edges so it can be shaped on the tree, it holds OK on the card too – a centre base for a christmas decoration perhaps, lengthways or across, or as the base for the greeting too.

There are lots of ideas, some of which I can share here in pictures, others you can and will love finding for yourself.  Enjoy!

Istart a new batch each year as I keep finding new suppliers and items to try out!   Lovely patterned card, including glittery pics from E-Bay on internet and local shops like The Stamp Pad in Greenfield, or Create & Craft now too.

Simple but effective ….
